Naturally leavened, small batch

Sourdough bread, baked at home in Lake City

Every loaf here starts with a live sourdough starter and a long, slow rise. No commercial yeast, no shortcuts. Yvonne bakes in small batches from her home kitchen in Lake City, so what you reserve this week is what goes into the oven this week.

Friday and Saturday pickup in Lake City. Order by Wednesday at 5 PM.

What we bake

The classic artisan loaf is the one people usually start with: a crisp, blistered crust and a soft, open crumb. The sandwich loaf is the everyday bread, softer and squarer, made for toast, lunches and breakfast. Flavored sandwich loaves rotate in and out through the year, like everything-but-the-bagel and cinnamon swirl. What's on this week is listed below.

How ordering works

Reserve online by Wednesday at 5 PM. Yvonne confirms your order and your pickup details, and you collect your bread fresh on Friday and Saturday in Lake City. There's no payment online; you pay at pickup with cash, Venmo or tap-to-pay.

A cottage bakery, not a storefront

Spring Water Bakery is a home-based cottage food operation. That's why quantities are limited each week and why orders are confirmed one by one. It's also why the bread tastes the way it does.
